The left-handed batsman hammered a brilliant 135 runs used in 54 balls, leading India to a mammoth 247/9 within the allotted overs. Abhishek capped off a game to remember by taking 2 wickets with the ball.

While reflecting upon his display, Abhishek was hopeful that his mentor Yuvraj Singh would be pleased. He mentioned during the post-match presentation that Yuvraj has always been motivating him to bat for at least 15 overs.

Record-Breaking Achievements

With this innings, Abhishek Sharma not only registered the second-fastest T20I century for India, surpassing Sanju Samson's feat, but also set a new record for the highest T20I score by an Indian batter, overshadowing Shubman Gill's 126 not out against New Zealand. His innings boasted 7 fours and an unbelievable 13 sixes, the highest ever by an Indian in a single T20I innings.

Speaking of Yuvraj Singh, Abhishek said: "I think he should be happy after this, but he always wanted me to bat 15 or 20 overs. Gauti Bhai (Gautam Gambhir) wanted it too. Today was my day, and I put it off well."

Abhishek affirmed the support coming from the head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav, who have always encouraged him to play with intent and express himself on the field, "They have always wanted me to play with this mindset from day one and supported me. That support means a lot to me." .

He added, "When the opposition bowlers are bowling at 140-150 km/h, you have to be ready a moment before anybody else. That was the plan-I just wanted to react to the ball and play my shots."

In response to being asked about his favorite shot from the innings, Abhishek stated: "To hit world-class bowlers over cover is always special. The sixes I hit off Adil Rashid were truly memorable. Yuvi Bhai mentioned those the other day, so he was quite pleased with those shots."
