Chainsaw Man Chapter 191: Yoru's Revelation and Yoshida's True Intentions
Chainsaw Man chapter 191 was released on January 28, 2025, and continues its narrative following Denji and friends and their triumph over the Aging Devil. This chapter serves as closure to some unresolved issues of the previous arc while setting the stage for what will be coming as a follow-up in the plot.
In this handout, Hirofumi Yoshida and Fumiko Mifune make their allegiances clear: they have become clear adversaries of Denji. However, Denji may also very well have a new ally in the War Devil, Yoru, who introduces herself to him, even if it's through deception.
Tensions Rise
The chapter starts with Yoshida, revealing that several important prisoners of war are in hold by Public Safety, including Katana Man, Nobana Higashiyama, Haruka Iseumi, and Seigi Akoku. He states his doubts about what influence this will have on Denji and his friends. Denji, putting the pieces together for the recent days, notices something odd about Asa Mitaka, especially with her new arm regrown.
Now, Yoru starts to seize control over Asa's body and introduces herself to Denji as Asa's other personality. A misleading statement that shrouds shock for Denji. Yoru revels in her dominion over herself and explains that right now Asa is safe as her psyche would collapse if she did kill anyone else. Calling Denji and the others her puppets, Denji recalls their close moment in the alley and wonders whether it was Asa or Yoru he was together with. Yoru teasingly suggests that the only way he could find out is if he were to eat his own hand, a response to which Denji shows eagerness thus shocking the rest.
The Game of Manipulation
As Yoru further explains it, she is not yet planning to weaponize Denji; instead, she refers to him as her "cute dog," who required a bit of playing with him to motivate him. Intrigued, Yoshida asks Yoru to hurry up with the weaponization of Denji. Confused, he pulls his hand from his mouth to seek an explanation but quickly puts it back in and tries again.

Yoshida predicts that soon the Death Devil will arrive, and no human can stop the destruction that is to occur. He suggests that humanity might have a chance against death if Yoru can control Pochita, who has become a mindless weapon. Denji questions if this is the reason why Yoshida transformed him into Chainsaw Man and if this is related to Nayuta's demise, but Yoshida chooses to remain silent. He then gives a gun to Denji and reminds him of their past conversation in the realm of the Aging Devil. Yoshida suggests that if Denji allows himself to be turned into a weapon for Yoshida or Fumiko, he will be shot.
A Defiant Stand
In an act of defiance, Denji levels the gun on Yoshida and pulls the trigger several times, only to discover it had no bullets inside. Yoshida expresses disappointment with a feeling of betrayal, expecting Denji to forgive. Yoru chimes in bitterly, slandering the stupidity of humans who resort to lies and schemes because of their lack of confidence.
When a waiter arrives with a strawberry cake, Yoru seizes the opportunity and throws the cake onto Yoshida's face; in turn, Denji berates her for wasting food. Yoru fires back that because she's a devil, she has the right to waste food. The chapter ends with Yoru pointing her finger at Yoshida like a gun, clearly trying to kill him.
Setting the Stage for Future Conflicts
In summary, while Chainsaw Man chapter 191 may not be packed with action, it provides crucial insights into the direction of the series and the motivations of Public Safety. The cliffhanger leaves readers anxious about Yoshida's fate following Yoru's attack, setting the stage for the next chapter.
